Welcome to Paris, where I’d be seeing the 2022 Alpine F1 car launch and meet Esteban Ocon at an Alpine Esports event in the same week! In this video I will take you with me for both events, let’s go!

Now here we are then for the launch of the new F1 car. The launch was done at a palace in the middle of Paris and a part of it was actually open to the public too. I was also invited to a cocktail in the evening organized for partners of Alpine and casually bumped into Laurent Rossi and Otmar Szafnauer who were also there. Pretty nuts!

The sheets of the launch outside actually went off like 10 minutes earlier than the launch of the real livery and it caused a big stir on social media.

But in the end, the livery that was shown earlier outside the palace was the livery we would have for the first two races of the season celebrating the partnership with BWT, whereas this blue livery was the livery for the whole season.

After the launch of the car, I had to go to a huge gaming arena for the Alpine Esports Challenge where I represented Alpine Esports during the event.

In the event, the top 4 times that were set by the public qualified to race against Esteban Ocon later on.

Now as we headed through the gaming arena where the event was held, it was pretty big, they had a crazy amount of PC’s, simulators and playstations. I spent way too much time playing FIFA when I was supposed to do something. Don’t tell the boss.

The event itself took place in a special theater with a 1v1 racing simulator setup, a commentator booth and a grandstand for viewers. The whole event was also streamed live on Alpine’s Twitch channel.

Little did I know, I was going to commentate on Esteban Ocon’s racing later that day and drive in the event myself.
