Ice Climber (Nintendo VS. System) - Bonus Stage Theme (Famicom 2A03+Namco 163 Cover)
I recently saw a ragtime rendition of Jr. Pac-Man's music on Twitter (https://twitter.com/PapaSauerkraut1/status/1553163731659636737?s=20&t=OiDrzg-6QYTbDj2wbzf8WA), which reminded me of how Toy Pop also had ragtime-style music. That made me want to study how Toy Pop's music was put together to give it its rich sound, and I suddenly remembered another classic game with a bit of a ragtime soundtrack: Ice Climber! With this, I decided to attempt a cover of the bonus stage theme in the style of Toy Pop using Namco's 163 expansion with the Famicom's 2A03. The amazing thing was that Toy Pop's music used square waves amongst its various wavetables, which allowed me to use the 2A03's two square wave channels and only need to use 4 channels in the 163. I'm extremely pleased with my results here, and I hope you enjoy it! ^w^
