If "Capcom" and "Nintendo" created the PERFECT crossover title...
1I don't know about YOU guys... but if the Kirby & Mega-Man series ever decided to cross paths someday, then this fan-game would be most certainly be the start of it. The elements of a Mega-Man Game mixed with Kirby is probably the most jarring thing I've seen from a fan-game, so far... and this is quite literally the ONLY "SAGE 2021" fan-game I played that somehow managed to effortlessly blow my mind without even trying! [Let me explain.]
This fan-game is actually part of a long-running series (which I've never got the chance to explore on my own) that seems to be following a long-running ARC of it's own... and that's what made this game's world truly feel like a fresh-experience. Though the overarching story isn't what made this game truly stand out... it's the gameplay that makes the entire experience stand out from the mainline games that inspired it.
From the enemy placement, to the level design... this fan-game looks GORGEOUS! The textures really stand out compared to what you'd see in Mega-Man, and the core elements of a Kirby Game can be seen in short glimmers-- only to be amplified TEN-FOLD thanks to the placement of these mysterious rings that the player can jump through to send them flying from platform to platform. And the bosses that go with each course are guaranteed to surprise you. [Not only are some of them just separate, powered-up forms of the normal kirby... but a lot of them seem to be some of the more iconic enemies from the series that we all know & love, too!]
If you plan on playing this, then you must have enough Mega-Man & Kirby know-how in order to play this. The style of this fan-game really knew how to mix up the elements of two franchises & stylize them to the point where they're unrecognizable, so I recommend that you get to know BOTH series' and how they play before you dive into this game... if you're daring enough to take the challenge~! [And yes... Mega-Man has the iconic charge shot.]
