This is a look at a splendid little fixed shmup for the x68000/x68030 series entitled Ika Blade, presented to you by YAX Takahara. And you know what, the game may look basic but it is SUCH A TRULY FUN one indeed that I am sure you do not want to miss, I will promise you that!!!

You start out with just 10 units of shield power, and as you shoot down the enemies, special items will be coming down towards you just so you can pick them up. They are:

[S] = Shield Unit Increase ( +1 )
[P] = Main Weapon Power-Up (max is power level-4!)
[F] = Flash Eliminator (destroys all enemies on-screen!!)

...and, you also have your speed booster that can be used at will with just a press of a button to get you swiftly out of some hairy situations when used wisely!! ;) Just be careful not to take too many hits because you only have ONE ship in this game, and once it is destroyed after your shield power is gone, your game is over. Period, no continues.

Here in the first (1st) of this two-part video, I blast through the first three (3) stages of play... and like I have said, Ika Blade is really a damn lot of fun to play -- especially once you get the hang of things here!!
