Spent a bunch of time between Kuroki and Jinfeng trying to get through both at lower ages. That's going to be the key part of this playthrough going forward - the early optimizations really make the rest of the game easier.

The first successful encounter with Jinfeng really hit home with how bad the plain revenge path is, and I'm hoping there's a pretty significant change whenever I manage to spare each boss.
