India's prime minister Narendra Modi says people found guilty of the deadly rail accident will face stringent punishment. Modi who visited the scene of Friday’s accident, where over 288 people were killed and another 800 injured, labeled the incident a "painful" one. Rescue efforts concluded ON Saturday, with officials saying all trapped and injured passengers have been retrieved. It is still not clear what caused the multi-train collision, described as India's worst rail accident this century, BUT a preliminary report indicates that the accident was the result of signal failure.
