From what i have played, the game is pretty good, atleast if you know what you do. Honestly i lost parts of my first footage, so i restarted the game and even if i got my butt kicked in some cases, this was going way better then before.
See the battles aren't easy, you completely heal after a battle is over. So even the small enemies can take you down in a few hits. Each Character got a specially assigned button to attack and you do different attacks if you hold up or down, or just press the button. The same button lets this character block and if you regulary block, you "special meter" goes down. If you block at the moment of attack the block will block more damage and you get a small charge on the special meter. Then there is also a button, where the whole party blocks, but i often mix it up with the button to use your special attacks, so partially don't block at all.
Sooo yeah, keep the timing right and you win the battle.

Outside the battles the game plays pretty much like Castlevania, you even get items/powers which lets you progress at parts, where you couldn't pass before.

Storywhise it seems to be a big journey. At the beginning you see a Party narrowly defeat some kind of entity and 16 years later you meet the hero of this game. Ajna (spoken like Ashna). You start it easy by going up the town to meet your father on the training ground. Since Ajna is a sassy teen things kinda eskalates and the father leaves and is moving to the village. When you follow him, you soon see that everything is on fire.
Your father is on the ground and you attack the soldier, that seems to have killed your father. In the middle of the Battle that soldier vanishes and is apparently banished into your head (which is another realm)

Turns out that he is just willingly following his oders and is proud of it, so Ajna decides to go to the boss himself to beat him up. So this is how the story starts.
