Indy Car Racing 2: modded track update (upper 50% mips only track and carset) LOLA1995
This is much better than the previous single(1)-level MIP video.
Here's run-through of a bunch of tracks with the LOLA1995 carset (with the lowest detail level MIPs dropped, the most detailed 50% is still there)
00:00 ICR2 Intro
01:24 Surfers Paradise (unmodified tracks)
03:50 Denver '91
05:48 Indianapolis
07:34 Meadowlands (unmodified track)
09:23 Nashville (unmodified track)
11:27 Riverside and "Divide by zero" (Always restart Dosbox before a race and only race a single track)
12:31 Riverside
14:37 Riverside Replay
Denver, Indianapolis and Riverside have had the smalles 50% of their MIPS removed as has the LOLA1995 carset. For nearly all the custom tracks with custom carsets, a mip-reduced carset is required. For the heavier tracks, the tracks themselves need to be mip reduced. TREdit can shrink them down:

To use this with an unpacked DAT:
tredit PathToUnpackedDat -reduce -convert OutputFolder
The ICR2\Tracks\trackname\folder should have everything already there apart from the DAT. Copy and paste the contents of OutputFolder (just the MIPS really) to ICR2\Tracks\trackname overwriting any existing MIPs.
If the source track or carset is packed into a DAT file:
tredit path to dat file -unpack unpack directory
First zap the dat file in ICR2\TRACKS (leaving all other files in there), copy the unpacked files folder then do a reduction and paste reduced files over ICR2\Tracks\trackname folder.
In general, most custom tracks+custom carsets should be playable. Distant objects do suddenly pop into the frame. I'm not sure whether this is because of the missing mips or just the game's view distance/mip selection.
Here are the tracks and carsets used (These are already modded and don't need to be MIP reduced):

Tracks (for these three, both the carset and the track need to shed a few mipmaps. Other tracks like Meadowlands and Nashville will work with just half-mipped carsets):
