CHALLENGE 47- “Monster Hunter Stories 2: Bonds of Ruin”
MHS2... what a game! Full of style, charm, and lots of great pokemon-esque monstie collecting! It’s too bad that we could never embark on our own egg-collecting, monstie-battling adventures in other Monster Hunter games...
...or could we...?
You know, we can have our own monstie adventures in Iceborne! Sure, it’ll require a little more work and effort, but if I slap on this challenger mantle and draw this Brachy over to this Uragaan, I’m sure it’ll happily help me! All we need is a little faith, and I’m sure the bonds of friendship will flourish between us! Isn’t that right, brachy?

To earn the “Monster Hunter Stories 2: Bonds of Ruin” title, you will need to:
1). Complete the event quest, “Alt Rock Recess”
- you MUST only fight in the presence of another monster (in other words, you need to bring a monstie along to attack your target!)
- it’s fine if a hit or two makes it in when a monster runs away, but any deliberate attempts to attack while no other monster is present will result in a fail
- flinch turns and pod shots are allowed to enrage and get a monster’s attention respectively
- all monsters must be slain (there is no capturing in MHS2!)
- once you’re down to a single monster, you may slay it normally
2). gear must be from monsters present in Stories 2. In other words…
- you must use a GS, SnS, GL, Bow, Hammer, or HH
- you must use the Peasrlspring headpiece (you’re all about bringing monsties, after all!)
- all other gear must be from Kulu, Pukei, Barroth, Tobi-Kadachi, Anjanath, Fulgur, Rathian, Pink Rathian, Rathalos, Azure Rathalos, Paolumu, Barioth, Diablos, Black Diablos, Uragaan, Nargacuga, Glavenus, Brachydios, Tigrex, Brute Tigrex, Seething Bazelgeuse, Savage Deviljho, Velkhana, Teostra, Kushla, Kirin, Yian Garuga, Zinogre, Ruiner Nergigante, Rajang, Stygian Zinogre, or Kulve Taroth (monsters that are present in Stories 2)
- yes, Seething, Savage, and Ruiner are not in Stories 2, but we’ll cut some slack for that since there’s no MR equivalent of the original monsters
- AT Velkhana gear is banned
- yes, Fatalis is in Stories 2, but you can’t upgrade it (yet), so we’re not allowing it here :3
- charms, mantles, and boosters are allowed
3). palicos are banned
4). 1-4 players are allowed
