The ThreadRipper 2950x is no more, say hello to the 2990X! AMD have changed the naming conventions of its threadripper SKUs, and indeed the 2990X specs and performance have leaked online. We see the ThreadRipper 2990X cinebench scores totally demolish the previous generation CPU

Intel's 8 core coffee lake is now running at at least 3ghz. Ashes of the singularity is reporting that the 8 core SKU is hitting 3GHZ base, although the turbo frequencies of the 16 thread mainstream part isn't known. The rumor puts this processor to release simultaneous to the Z390 platform; and the 8 core coffee lake will be the highest core count for intel's mainstream parts ever and is likely a response to the various Ryzen 7 parts AMD have released over the years.
