Intel 8 Core Coffee Lake Xeon’s Appear | IceLake Benchmark Leaks & More
Intel will first be releasing their 8 core coffee lake cores in xeon e series of processors on the socket 1151 platform it would seem. Intel have listed the 8 core xeon e coffee lake as an ES (engineering sample). The release of the mainstream coffee lake s 8 core parts is thought to be simultaneous with that of the Z390 platform, which is a small and incremental update from the current Z370.
This will be the highest core count CPU have released in the mainstream, doubling the number of cores in the 8th generation compared to the 4 cores found in the kaby lake (intel 7th generation).
Intel's IceLake has also been spotted in the ashes of the singularity benchmark, and is most likely an ultra low power part, IceLakeU. these CPUs are going to be built on the intel 10nm process, and is going to be released after cannon lake. This part is a 4 core 8 thread part.
AMD's Ryzen 7 2800U benchmarks have leaked, and shows this is an 8 thread part, with 4 cores and coupled with a Vega 11 GPU. Most likely we're looking at a 35 ish watt part, although AMD are yet to formally acknowledge the processor actually exists.
AMD have set to release GPU drivers for their APus every 3 months - a move which has angered many users. And finally the company will see bios support for their bristol ridge APUs cut from many AM4 motherboards as BIOS space is limited and there's so many AM4 CPUs.
