99Insanity's Requiem is one of the mods for Doom that you can't miss if you want to get something refreshing, quite different to the Brutal Doom or Project Brutality. This modification is much more tactical and forces on player a more careful approach when playing. Cyberdemon in Insanity's Requiem is one of the most aggressive Cyberdemon variants in mods I've ever really seen. Not only it's health amount is enormous but also it shoots like a crazy without a time to stop such an onslaught. Using the Anti-Materiel rifle isn't rather a good thing, you will most likely die before the battle. The attack pattern of this Cyberdemon is also quite random, the best way is to use double jump as much as possible. In the Twisted Neighborhood I've also had to cheat to get the Evangelizer Gauss Cannon... It's the first level when we can get the BFG equivalent, felt quite like a trash to get a Typhoon from such a hard secret. If you don't remember, to find that secret you must USE the only dead tree in the whole level, quite hard to get for most of the people. The Evangelizer Gauss Cannon itself... isn't the weapon I expected however. The power of this weapon isn't a big one, although it's the final weapon but feels really weak against Cyberdemons or Masterminds. If you want a great crowd control damage dealing weapon, get the Automatic Shotgun or Flak Mutilator.
Starter Pack by SgtMarkIV known from Brutal Doom is a 32 level mappack that requires either Freedoom or Doom II Hell On Earth. This mappack addon retells the story of both Doom I and Doom II in it's own original way - some of the locations are redrawn to feel much more realistic than in the original releases of games, others are completely new, a lot of work has been put to make this mappack with all 32 maps. Doomguy will have to make through the demon infested UAC base on Mars where "something went wrong" and he is the only one really capable of dealing against the invasion from the Hell itself.
