Installing Format Junkie on Ubuntu 12.04
Format Junkie is an all-in-one media converter for Linux! Specifically for Ubuntu.
You can convert your songs/audios to different formats, your pictures to different formats, your videos to different formats and even your disc files to different formats!
In this video, I hope to guide you on installing Format Junkie in Ubuntu 12.04
Currently, Format Junkie is only available from PPA, but hopefully in the near future it will be readily available in the Ubuntu Software Center.
Code for the RELEASE version of Format Junkie:
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:format-junkie-team/release;
sudo apt-get update;
sudo apt-get install formatjunkie
(The PPA below here is the Ubuntu App Showdown PPA, NOT THE LATEST)
Code for Format Junkie PPA installation:
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:hakermania/format-junkie;
sudo apt-get update; sudo apt-get install formatjunkie
Steps:
1. Open a terminal.
2. Copy and paste the above code into the terminal. Hit Enter.
3. When asked for your password, input it.
4. It will ask if you want to continue adding the PPA, hit Enter to continue.
5. After adding the PPA, it will ask y/n if you want to Install Format Junkie.
Type in "y" and hit Enter to continue with the installation.
6. When it is done, it is safe to close the terminal.
7. To run Format Junkie, open the dash and search for "Format" or "Format Junkie".
If you can find it and run it, congratulations! You've successfully installed it!
