0Ok this place is home to some challenging tests for your first time through. Starting at the bridge, a giant lizard drops behind you. It's not exactly difficult but if you're having trouble, blocking isn't exactly a great idea unless you use a greatshield. As it's attacks drain stamina very quickly. The goal is to dodge and swing, same as any other enemy. Be wary though, if you're behind it and it looks back it WILL bite behind it so roll away.
Once you're past the gatekeeper of sorts the real tests begin, there are cross burners here (presumably having something to do with either burning witches, heretics, or crucifixions etc) and they are one of if not the main threat here.
They can cast from behind a wall as long as they started the cast before you went behind the wall. The only way to range these things is to back it up a looong way. They'll give up giving you the chance to deal with the grunts which can be just as dangerous.
