iPad Pro 2020 as a YouTube vlogging camera with external microphone & tripod mount FIRST ROUGH TEST
My very first off the cuff testing of the iPod Pro 2020 as a YouTube vlogging camera or a YouTube production camera. I'm using a simple and cheap plastic tripod mount that grips the iPad and gives it a quarter/20 thread for mounting to tripod plates etc.
This video is also a bit of an iPad Pro focus test and I must say, the focusing is absolutely awesome and way beyond what should be reasonably expected for a tablet or pad or any device who's primary function is not as a video camera.
Seriously, the focus is very similar to a Sony ZV-1, obviously not as good but not a million miles away and better than many dedicated video cameras. It's very fast for what it is and really smooth, more of this stuff to follow. I wish I still had my ZV1 so I could do a iPad Pro vs Sony ZV-1 focus test video :) The iPad's focus is very similar to the Sony ZV-1 product demonstration mode.
Seriously. This iPad is one of the best things I've ever bought and if you've been sitting on the fence about getting one, like I was, honestly, just do it. If the 11 inch is big enough for your needs, I'd totally recommend this over the bigger one.
This mount isn't at all robust but is good enough for testing the iPad as an indoor YouTube camera, just don't go mad with it.
This was well good enough for me to realise just how good the cameras on the iPad Pro are for controlled shooting and YouTube vlogging setups. I will definitely be buying a metal tripod mount and doing more with the iPad in this type of setup.
