Size: It Looks & Feels Similar (Same Accessories Should Fit)
Software: iOS 11 (Same), makes all older devices WORSE
Raw Performance: No Perceivable Difference, Skips less on 8
Consistency: 15fps issue?!
Responsiveness: Neither gets better after setup, caching
Transparency: better handling on 8, Tweetbot/CC example
App Refreshes: About the Same
Battery Life: Similar
Jank: No Perceivable Difference
Charging: You Can Get Inductive Charging Case
Display: True Tone is a Nice Bonus
FaceTime Camera: No Perceivable Difference
Video Camera: 4K 60fps on 8 Plus
HDR Photos: better low light color, saturation on 8 (better whites contrast on 7)
Photos: hand shake compensate on 8 (less blur)
Camera Viewer: Less Blur in low light on the 8
Flash: Slow Sync Flash on 8 Plus (sometimes overexposes white), works slightly faster on the 8
Camera: Haptic Button Press on 8
Portrait Lighting: Neat, but Gimmicky
Touch ID: Same Speed
Speakers: 8 is Louder, Better
Audio: Crackling at times (someone mentioned phone, mine on notifications)
