A new book about tank warfare in Iraq has been released. Main Battle Tank tells the story of the modern-day cavalry: the Scots Dragoon Guards and the Challenger 2 - and their starring role in Iraq. Designed for the fog and mud of Europe, it was put to work in Iraq, breaking every rule of tank warfare, such as taking a tank into town. With the future of tank warfare now in doubt, because of the SDSR, this may well have been the last time the Army uses this kind of tank warfare and heavy artillery. Iraq was also the first time tanks had been used in battle since WW2. The account is written by author Niall Edworthy with accounts throughout from Major Tim Brown of the Scots Dragoon Guards.
