Jak 3: Part 2: Leaping for Kleiver's Lizard Lunch
Jak & Daxter had just survived the first of King Damas's Spargus Arena challenges and battles, but there was more work to do in that arena before Damas could consider them true citizens and wastelanders of his city.
A big portly warrior named Kleiver was watching them from a distance, and he knew from Damas that these two came from Haven City. He wants to try and help them out, but first that have to help HIM out.
There wild Kanga-Rats eating up Spargus City's food supplies. Kleiver wants the Dark Eco Duo to ride a Leaper Lizard and turn 6 of those rats into food for that creature.
----------
If you played the first Jak & Daxter, then you'll immediately realize that using a Leaper Lizard is just like using the Flut-Flut Bird. These lizard can headbutt, dive attack, and flutter around.
But these dragons are pretty damn weak otherwise. One hit, they die. Touch deep water, they die! Thankfully, they're spread about everywhere through Spargus City, so you can easily find another one if you lose one. Just don't expect to take them outside of the city.
To have a Leaper catch a Kanga-Rat, just headbutt into it. There's no real danger from this mission unless you purposely want to make its citizens shoot at you by hitting them.
----------
Before or after completing this mission, you can explore Spargus City as much as you want. It is much MUCH smaller than Haven City. There are packages everywhere that can give you Precursor Orbs or Metal Head Skull Gems if you smash into them. You can also just find some orbs floating around waiting for you to pick them up.
Another way to get Precursor Orbs in this game is taking on challenges set by Oracles. They're much smaller, much more frequent, and have a new booming voice this time.
Some Oracles will challenge you to find their prized Gold Precursor Orbs (worth 3 of them at minimum) before time runs out, while others challenge you to go through rings for a similar prize.
The catch is that these Oracle need those Skull Gems, too. You're basically trading gems for orbs in this game. After a bit of exploration and challenges, I move on with the plot.
