Xenoblade Chronicles 2: Part 77: Getting to Merc Rank 5 Part 2/2: Vandham's Legacy
3This video concludes the "Marvelous Mercenaries" Quest. I would've gotten it done in one video if I didn't let a different interesting Quest sidetrack me from it.
Taking right after Part 76, you go to Captain Saffran of Gormott's Titan Battleship to looked for the Jeweled Signet. He hasn't seen it, even though, even those Gavyth said it was somewhere on the ship. So go in, anyway.
Reach the Bridge to talk to Hassic. He knows about the Signet, but then... he forces the group to fight him and his squad, or die trying!
That's a pretty ballzy thing to do, considering that one of the people he forced to fight him is his own superior Special Inquisitor! To put emphasis on this, I switched Mòrag in as the party leader.
Remember, even if you're using a different Driver than Rex, you can still unleash Pneuma from him if his same conditions are met (Pyra/Mythra at MAX Affinity, all 3 Party Gauge bars), though I didn't give any time to do that.
After you beat Hassic's crew, you then have to fight Saffran, himself, alongside his Loyal Celdros. THIS is where I pulled out Pneuma.

Again, pretty odd how these guys were so open about killing their own Mòrag...
After beating Saffran, he'll cough up the key to the room where the Jeweled Signet is. He knew about it this whole time, but didn't want anyone to take it. Take the signet and bring it back to Queen Raqura in Uraya.

Saffran spoke of a secret agent that was responsible for this scheme. That agent came from Mor Ardain, but escaped unscathed. However Raqura alerts to the group that she had done some secret sluthing of her own and managed to apprehend the man behind the scenes.
That, combined with the Jeweled Signet being recovered, meant that this mission was a success! But the Quest was not yet finished...
Go back to Yew to report the mission's success to here, and he'll realize that his Queen was much more capable than she led on.

Yew then wanted Rex to bring himself and Roc to Vandham's great. He wanted them to gather for one last talk to his original leader...
Rex, Roc, Yew, Zuo, and others gathered at Vandham's gravestone. They talked to him about how much they've grown as mercenaries, and how they remained capable of running such a team even without his leadership. However, thanks to Rex's efforts, Yew and Zuo were able to pull through with their team more than ever before.
Roc, despite not having his memories of being with Vandham, at this point, recognized him as an important man to the mercenaries and gave his gratitude to him.
The Garfont Mercenaries were ready to take themselves to even greater heights, even more than Vandham could ever imagine!

Upon completing this Quest, you finally reach Merc Level 5! You can't go any higher than this, but you have now maximized your benefits from taking on Merc Missions!
This also means that Roc's Affinity Chart will be completely unlocked!

For the next few videos (besides taking care of Ursula more, of course), I'm gonna focus on taking care of more of my Blades, and keep getting new ones.
In fact, I'm ready to try and get a special new Blade right after this, and the way to them is right there at that Olethro Playhouse...
