The original Jak and Daxter is still my favorite game in the Jak series. I know a lot of people are fans of the Jak-Theft-Auto direction Jak II and Jak III took, but I prefer the tradition 3D platformer style of the original. That's just my preference I guess. Nothing against Jak II or Jak III, I just love the original Jak and Daxter.

I was super excited to finally play it and see it in action when it released in the PS2. It was at the time when the second-generation software was hitting the system, and we were finally seeing how good the system's graphical capabilities were. All the pre-launch hype of the system, and Jak was a good showing for the system's capabilities thanks to the talented people at Naughty Dog. Obviously, the Xbox hit and blew both the PS2 and Gamecube out of the water when it came to graphical capabilities, but Jak was still a beautiful game to me at the time, and an incredibly well made one at that. Super fun, super addictive, and I am glad to own the original, and this HD Collection pack for the PS3.
