Jak II: Playthrough Part 11: The Palace Encounter Against Baron Praxis
10Based on the race mechanic's advice, Jak had an idea, and asked if Vin could turn on one of the elevators of one of Praxis' palace support towers.
Vin hesitated to do this at first, but after Jak called his bluff, Vin went through a long sequence of computing to activate the elevator after all.
To finish off the activation, though, Jak has to access its 5 power boxes... except that those same boxes are right under turbo cannons.

Those turbo cannons are the same ones that usually turn on as soon as a city alert is triggered. Just destroy them and press the switches right under them.
Natually, soon after you trigger the first switch, those Krimzon clods start hunting you down. Try to ignore them as you go try to get to the rest of the cannons and their switches.

Afterwards, follow the elevator icon on your map to go through the "silver" area of the city. Take the elevator for a VERY long ride upwards.
How convenient that the beam to the palace is yet another obstacle course. Be careful not the fall off, especially as some platforms will try and do that to you! There will also be more turrets to avoid and destroy!

Once Jak & Daxter reach the palace, they look through a window and see Baron Praxis and Errol underneath. They're talking to the Metal Head leader through a hologram!
He's getting really impaitent with the Baron's failing Eco supply. If he runs out, that leader will obliterate all of Haven City.
Errol is eager to take the leader head on at his nest, but it is largely implied by the Baron himself that doing such a thing is what costed him most of his head and one of his eyes.
But then he changes his mind and attmept to go for in, and even tells Errol to have Ashelin strengthen her own side of his forces.
Is it then revealed here that Ashelin is the Baron's daughter, and somewhat of a rebellious one to her father...
It also seems that even the Baron is after the kid that was with Kor, before, knowing that he's possibly the true ruler of Haven City.
Daxter then sneezes at the window from the cold of the rain. It shocked Errol, but...

Go a few yards over, and Praxis comes up from the palace, know that Daxter's sneeze would leave him to Jak. It was time for Jak to exact his revenge on the Baron, which is what he's been trying to do this whole time!
Bosses in this game have 3 sections of health, and each section is tied to a different phase of the boss battle.
For the first phase, Praxis just shoots his machine guns at you. The smaller meter above his health just shows how much ammo he has left. If you see a shield, that is also just an indicator of his ammo. It doesn't actually protect him. When he runs out of ammo, he'll fly over to a power generator to recharge it.
All you can do is just shoot at him with the Blaster. You can only do this in a timely matter, as he seems to just get invincible for a couple seconds after each hit. After taking off a whole section of his health, he moves on through the palace by destroying the generator and making you follow him.
The second has the Baron unleash a rain of bombs at you. Just get out of their way and keep shooting.
For the third and final phase, Praxis generates flaming tornadoes at you. He might also even charge at you. Once again, just keep shooting, and then his machine will fall apart, leaving just a pod.
He then makes like Dr. Eggman and escapes, swearing to the Dark Eco Duo that this is not the last they'll see of him!

Take another elevator downward and then you can make your way out of the palace directly, but you can't go back in. For now...
In this game, it's storyline is split up into 3 acts, and upon defeating Baron Praxis, here, I have just completed all of this game's Act 1.
