Jeopardy! Junior Edition (NES) Playthrough - NintendoComplete
A playthrough of GameTek's 1989 game show game for the NES, Jeopardy! Junior Edition.
Played against two CPU opponents on difficulty level 3.
Jeopardy! Junior Edition was Rare's third and final Jeopardy! game for the NES, coming out about a year after the first one. At its core, like the 25th Anniversary Edition, Jeopardy! Junior Edition is a essentially the same game as the original: the question banks are new and a few tweaks have been made to the graphics, but the underlying game is virtually identical. Not that it makes much difference if you enjoy the game.
Junior offers up 400 new categories of questions aimed at the kids (ages seven and up) who would've likely found the first two games too difficult. The questions focus on things that are taught in elementary and middle school as well as children's stories, and so long as the player can read reasonably well, the whole package is surprisingly accessible without being insulting or condescending.
It's not going to offer adults any challenge, but the game is just as well made as the adult versions, and it does a really nice job of adhering to the spirit of the show in how it encourages people to learn through fun.
RIP Alex Trebek. The world could use a few more like you.
