Like many other Dreamcast games, JoJo's Bizarre Adventure was originally released in the arcade (in 1998) on the CPS-3 arcade system. Outside of Japan, this arcade version was called JoJo's Venture.
An updated version of the game was released on arcade in 1999 as JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Heritage for the Future. This was also the version of the game that saw a console release on Dreamcast and Playstation.
Both these ports was released late 1999 in Japan and early 2000 in the US and Europe.
A high-definition version of JoJo's Bizarre Adventure was released on PlayStation Network and Xbox Live Arcade in late 2012.

JoJo's Bizarre Adventure is based on Hirohiko Araki's Japanese manga of the same title. The JoJo's Bizarre Adventure manga has sold over 80 million copies in Japan alone, making it one of the best-selling manga series in history. It started its run in 1986 in the weekly magazine Weekly Shōnen Jump but moved to the "seinen" (young adult audience) magazine Ultra Jump in 1995.

The arcade version of Jojo's Bizarre Adventure was ported by Capcom themselves and published by Virgin Interactive in Europe. The storyline is lifted from the manga series' story arc titled "Stardust Crusaders" where we follow a Japanese teenager named Jotaro Kujo, who has developed a supernatural called the "Stand". The "Stand" appear in-game as ghostly figures that you are able to control during the fights. Whilst a "Stand" is activated, the fighter can increase the power of their attacks, use special techniques, receive enhancements to their character.

The original manga author Hirohiko Araki was involved in making of the game and often served as a consultant. He also created unique artwork and developed a new character design for one fighter - Midler... Yes, the half naked lady. Of course.

The Dreamcast version was superior to the Playstation version, since it features both the original arcade game AND the revised version of the arcade game. Two games for the price of one. You can see both versions in our video.
In 2012 an updated version of the game (improved graphics and online multiplayer) was released on Xbox Live and PSN. However, the game was delisted in the end of 2014 on Xbox Live.
When we publish this video, Jojo's Bizarre Adventure HD has also been delisted from PSN. However, JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: All-Star Battle is available on PSN.

The Dreamcast version of the game received nice reviews from almost all critics. 8.5/10 from IGN, 8.3/10 from Gamespot, 7.6/10 from EGM and so on. If you are into retro fighters, this is a mighty fine title to pick up if you ever get the chance.
Or, if you own a PS3 - buy JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: All-Star Battle. It's almost the same content. Almost.
