Cannon Spike (Dreamcast)
Cannon Spike (also known as Gunspike in Japan) was one of the last games ever to be released on the Dreamcast in Europe (the 3rd of May 2002 to be more precise). By then it was, however, already released in the Japanese and US market since th end of 2000.
Cannon Spike was developed by the arcade specialized company Psykio in 2000 for Sega's Naomi hardware. The game was a collaboration with Capcom and uses Capcom-designed characters. These characters are:
Arthur from Ghosts 'n Goblins
Baby Bonnie Hood from Darkstalkers
Cammy from the Street Fighter series
Charlie from the Street Fighter series
Mega Man (or Megaman. Even the spelling within the game differ).
Shiba Shintaro from the now relatively unknown game Three Wonders.

One other character, Simone, was made specifically for the game. Vega (from Street Fighter) appears as an enemy character, named Fallen Balrog or Revenger Balrog.
When Psykio developed Gunspike they were already an experienced company. Not only had they been developing games for arcade systems since 1993. Many of the people who worked at Psykio came from other well known developers such as Video System Co.
Psykio focused mostly on vertically scrolling shoot 'em ups and many of their titles was so successful that they were ported to a wide range of consoles. Just to mention a few we have Gunbird (also released on Dreamcast, Playstation and Sega Saturn), Strikers 1945 (also released on Sega Saturn, Playstation and Playstation 2) and Samurai Aces (also released on Playstation 2).
Psykio was shut down as a developer in 2003, but the name still lives on as a publisher.
Cannon Spike might be a very short game since it only has 10 levels. But what it lacks in length, it makes up with how fun it is. The controller takes a little bit time to get used to, and the hit box of your character is a little bit wonky. But when you get into the game, it's really fun. If you are in the US market, it's probably really cheap too. Go for it!
And how fun isn't it to play as Megaman outside his own universe?
