After a small period without posting anything, I'm back and this time with another PSP game. Yes that's right, this is the obscure X-Men Legends DC clone, called Justice League Heroes, which also came on in the PS2 console back in the day. For some reason this version is the superior one graphically though.

So what is this game all about, and what sets it apart from X-Men Legends? Well, it's got DC characters for a starter package, but it also have more segmented levels and chapters, where each duo of superheroes will work together throughout the chapter with no change in between them. It's trying to be a story driven game, if you will.

Gameplay while I noticed it's a bit faster than X-Men Legends, and it's got more action in it than X-Men Legends. In that way it feels like a game such as Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2, were the RPG mechanics were kept to a minimum and the action filled the screen attempting to be cool and crazy turf wars.

And of course since this is the PS2 era, we have a greatly designed dungeon crawler that would make Dark Souls cry every second he witness the great design in hand here. Its isometric, yes, but if you can get off the fandom goggles for Dark Souls and modern styled action RPGs and remember what it feels like getting a piece of loot or a skill set that turns your character into a beast, and having to alternate between said attacks in a game style were movement is really fluid but also tank like, than you're missing out on a style of games that just isn't made the same way as before. Its Zelda influenced, and kinda cliched, but at the same time I love this idea and have to say that...

... This is a good game after all. It reminds me of playing Baldur's Gate Dark Alliance as a young teenager right when I had my PS2 and Gamecube consoles. Oh the memories...
