Xenoblade’s vision mechanics have always seemed really clever to me, solving multiple problems with one solution, so figured I’d talk about it this week even if most of this is probably common knowledge.

That aside, though, man does XC have an incredible opening hook. Had to play through the beginning again to get this footage and man, it still gets me. Absolutely brilliant.

Debated using the original or Definitive Edition for this one, and ultimately went with DE. I usually like to use the original version of games to help preserve the context within which they did whatever interesting thing I’m highlighting. But I ultimately went with DE because it was more practical to capture, and would be more readable shrunken down to Shorts format.

But yeah, it’s entirely possible the topic of this one is just a me thing, since I am prone to overthink this stuff, but I do really appreciate it when devs make efforts to ground the experience like that for immersion’s sake.

Anyway, think that’ll do it for this week. Thanks, as always, for your time. And till next time, take care out there.
