Here's a wall of text for you! This is easier for me to do than to put in a crap ton of annotations. :P

The device game was played on was the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1.

The pixels are kind of large because I can't zoom out without risking a force close error. I wish someone out there could explain whether this is a Kairosoft problem because apparently all tablets running Honeycomb 3.x have this issue.

Points of interest in the video:

0:33 This is the area you start off at. And check out all those alien tourists! :D They come and visit the hotel, the factories, and some other facilities around the colony. Other than the hotel, the aliens pay money for goods and services and even discover research points for you.

0:42 This is the snow fields which is the second area that will be uncovered during gameplay. The silly giant robot/mecha flying around is a spaceship for the robotic race. ^^

0:52 Lots of empty space here since I'm too lazy to continue building. It's already past the point of the game's end so why bother?

0:56 Desert area. Only a few people live around here since I needed a group that could work on products that required raw materials from both the snow fields and the desert.

1:07 Let's explore the cave! The information window details the percentage explored, the danger level, and the level of difficulty. The latter two pieces of info will help you determine who and how many residents to bring. I just took a full party along but probably didn't need to. XD The advantage with a larger party is having more reserve members for battles.

1:14 I'm just checking out the roster. (I sorted by hitpoints.)

1:48 Notice the small inset at the bottom. It shows you have many places will be explored (indicated by the boxes with question marks) and gives you a visual of the progress of the expedition. By sheer awesome luck, my party encounters something that'll slow them down. 9___9

2:15 Expeditions typically require additional funding to continue so every now and then, your assistant and the party leader will notify that more money is needed. If you don't have enough funds, the expedition will be cancelled and the party will return to the colony.

2:21 Facilities for your extraterrestrial guests! :3 Well, except the garden (the colourful graphic on the top left). That's for boosting the appeal(?) of the hotels.

2:38 All the planets that I've visited. They're all fully explored but there are still people can I bring back on 4 of them. The little meter is a log of the relationship the aliens have with you. They all start off kind of meh toward you but after many visits, they'll become friendly. The aliens of the 5th and 6th worlds were discovered not so long ago so they're still far away from being chummy.

The positioning is decided by the AI but since I don't want my ranged fighters to be in the front line, I move one guy (who's armed with a Bazooka) back and give the other one a Drill.

Now watch my party of 6 mow down 37 monsters! Yes, unfortunately, there is no interaction from the player during fights. The only thing you can do is command your group to flee with the right button.

Yay! Victory! And with no members lost! Other than the cave at the start of the game, I don't recall getting into more than one battle during an expedition so I'm assuming everyone always starts battles at full health regardless of whether they get bounced off the screen in a previous fight.

5:48 We uncovered a Fast Food restaurant! Too bad I don't need any more buildings that'll give me research points and money!

I could have cropped rest of the video but I wanted to show how the aliens seemed to ignore the Fast Food joint. I'm not sure why since aliens landing at the port nearby could reach it. (There seems to be an unwritten range restriction for residents and aliens in that they'll only go for things that are close to their home/where they land.) Maybe it just needed to be placed in an attractive spot? :P
