Ergh. I didn't realize the camera was out of focus on the iPod touch until after I recorded the video. Instead, you can see all the details of my creepy hands. :(( Anyway~
This exploit, which was pointed out by Kairospot forum (http://kairospot.net/forum/) user Luke baker, is practically a sure-fire way of turning any visitor into a regular customer!
However, before you attempt to do this, you have to:
a) make sure you have empty contiguous space on some floors.
b*) ensure that the store you're swapping in has the required amount of Quality for the customer to become a regular patron.
c) try and catch the customer JUST as he or she or it is about to start shopping at the store you're taking out.
d) ensure you're NOT doing this in the last week (W4) of the month unless you're catching it at the start of the week. The reason for this is that the stores will close shortly afterward making the rearranging you did a waste.
e) be certain the store you're moving has enough stock and that it hasn't recently sold out of things to sell. ^^;;
*For b), you can achieve this through floor compatibility as well as forcing a combo. For example, the Relaxation combo can easily be done for customers that need the fountain or a relaxing facility with a quality rating of 20 - 30.
When placing in the required store, it's all right if it's "off" by a square. In my video, I took out the Cinema (4 squares) and put in a PC Store (3 squares). Yeah, the customer will just be shopping from an empty space but the desired outcome still happens. :P
I'm still not 100% certain if the quality bonuses the floor managers give have any affect when it comes to quality conditions for regular customers so I won't recommend changing staff. :\
