KH Re:Com - Part 7: Vexen, Twilight Town, and Vexen again
Vexen 1 is pretty easy, but Vexen 2 is decently hard. I didn't realize twilight town was so short so I didn't realize I was already walking into Vexen 2, hence why I didnt save before him. So I did beat him first try, it was messier than I would've liked and if I had saved first I probably would have tried this again, but I didn't other. Vexen 2 has a nasty trick in that he has a ton of mega ethers in his deck and the air pirate enemy card which makes his item cards unbreakable, so he's able to keep spamming sleights much longer than other bosses since his deck is more renewable. In my fight not only did I have to deal with him using braced items a couple times, but he also got his revive off as well. His slide charge sleight is actually a pretty satisfying move to dodge, sadly I forgot how to dodge it so I floundered against it for most of them fight and only dodged it a handful of times, the real way you're supposed to dodge it is to jump over him on the first hit, then walk away from him while he whiffs the second hit, then you have plenty of time to dodge roll the last hit. At first I was trying to dodge roll all three hits which barely ever works, and what I ended up doing was dodging the first hit, jumping the second, then dodging the third which works decently well but the first hit dodge catches a lot of the time and you don't have much time to react to the third hit after jumping the second one, so it's a harder and less consistent method. Anyways, Vexen 2 is a decent fight, probably the first cool fight in the game, shame I just had to use my first sloppy take, but it's whatever I didn't feel like going through twilight town again.
