KH Re:Com - Part 10: Axel 2, Marluxia, and Final Battles
Axel 2 is pretty hard. He has an virtually unavoidable sleight that does a million damage just like riku replica 4 does. He has a basic attack card that locks you in after the first hit and can randomly shave off half your HP after a random card break. He's got a massive deck filled with 9s and 0s as well as a couple elixirs to boot. He's basically like if Larxene 2 had Riku Replica 4's Dark Aura. The worst of both worlds. Thankfully in the time since I fought the other two, I've stocked up on powerful item cards and figured out how to work them into my methods a bit more smoothly, as well as gotten a good amount of levels in to increase my HP and deck size. Axel 2 is probably the hardest boss for this playthrough since phase 2 firetooth is just agony and he spams and i cant stop him from spamming it.
Marluxia 1 is cool I guess, but his blossom sleight is annoying. As far as I can tell the first three strikes are undodgable, but at least they do minimal damage. The shockwave is dodgable I think and the bullets are actually dodgable if you got superglide and do it at just the right angle from the corner of the room, but it's tricky and not perfectly reliable. Dropshot is supposed to be super easy to dodge, but he always breaks my freaking lock on with it so I had no luck dodging it. His double sleight card is nasty, if he uses double blossom sleight you basically die if you can't figure out the superglide tech for dodging the bullets at the end. His deathscythe sleight is easy and fun to dodge. He's a bit hard, mostly just because of the double blossom sleight, but not overly so and nothing super special.
Marluxia 2 is a joke, just spam 9s and you're invincible.
Marluxia 3 might be the hardest in the run by some metrics because he's an asshole. He uses all his sleights three times in a row, expect gale which he uses only once at a time. Whirlwind and doom he won't repeat if they hit, but he will repeat them three times if you dodge them. Everything is fine and dandy until he gets to low HP and uses omnilaser. Circle Reject is easy dodge, but in reality I found myself more inclined to just tank it since it does low damage and deseparately try to get damage on him in between the casts of it because he will use omnilaser next and it will kill you. Omnilaser is forced damage, you can mitigate some of it with glide or dodge rolls if you get a bit lucky, but he uses it three times in a row. The only way to survive is to mitigate a decently chunk of its damage on all three casts and sneak a cure inbetween each cast, of course also having a metric fuckton of HP. If you were aggressive enough you should only have to deal with one omnilaser before he dies, especially if you don't bother dodging circle reject and instead took that time to deal some damage. I fucked up and he got to use it a second time, but I miraculously survived the tricast of omnilaser twice in one fight. Not being able to deny omnilaser is brutal since he triple casts it if you dont break it and it basically just kills you.
