The only goal in this level is to complete it as fast as possible without getting hit or collecting prizes. There is one time clock present in this level that could be respawned by taking telepads, except you'll find that the rock/ice block walls that you destroyed earlier will block you from backtracking. That being said, this level is done here exactly as it would be done during a single-setment speedrun of the game.
It is very hard to do within 2:31, and allows little room for mistakes. This is a tied world record because peaches_ has also achieved it... during a single segment run! Major props to him, as doing it that way is even more difficult than how I did it.
The biggest tip I can give anyone is actually how to break the shooter/ice block walls. More time is saved when triggering these blocks from the bottom rather than from the left, because no horizontal speed is lost. All other strats done should be pretty self-explanatory.
In regard to the level's ending: keep in mind that this game counts seconds by counting the number of frames that pass, 60 frames per second. The reason why 2:31 appears for longer than 1 real-time second is because activating the shooter blocks at the end of the level causes a significant degree of lag, causing the frame rate to dip below 60 frames per second. This appears to give me extra time to get to the flag, but it actually does not.
