This is a playthrough using Omega Rugal in the Arcade version of King of Fighters '98. Read on below for more information...

Omega Rugal is the end boss. He is a non-selectable character in the MVS Arcade version of the game.

===== ABOUT OMEGA RUGAL =====

Rugal is an arms/weapons dealer who operates abroad his aircraft carrier called the Black Noah. He is an influential man and feared throughout the political and fighting world. Those who oppose Rugal would be defeated and slain by him, and he would have their bodies preserved in liquid metal to add to his trophy room. He has a pet panther called Rodem, which accompanies him and in KOF95 is seen in the background plane area (where the non-active team members would stand) in gameplay.

One of his eyes is bionic, which was the result of Leopold Goenitz blinding him in that eye with a single strike when a younger Rugal tried to channel Orochi's power to himself. At the time, Goenitz was surprised by how Rugal survived the attack and gave him some of the Orochi power, also warning him not to use the full extent of it.

After Rugal lost to Team Japan in the KOF94 tournament, he returned the following year (KOF95) and decided to use 80% of the Orochi power, causing his hair to turn white and his skin turning into a darkened-pale complexion. He also implemented some cybernetic enhancements to his body (most notably one of his arms) to better harness the Orochi power.

When Kyo, Benimaru and Goro defeated him he activated his full power but it was too much for his body to withstand and he exploded from inside.

===== OTHER INFORMATION / TRIVIA =====

---- He does not have proper "Assist" strike programmed in. When it's used, he just "floats" in and out. You can see this being demonstrated starting around 21:07 in the video.

---- Despite being Omega Rugal, he is just named as Rugal in the game.

---- He has different images for his character select icon, order portrait, lifebar icon and winning screen portrait.

---- As there is a regular Rugal in the game, it makes Omega Rugal more of a "palette-swap" character.

---- His Gravity Smash special move is unique to this version of him in KOF98. He does not have this move in any of his other iterations.

---- As expected, he is far more stronger than regular Rugal in the game.

---- If there are at least two Omega Rugal's in a team, if the winner is Omega Rugal, then on the winning screen the other Omega Rugal's "secondary" image is of Kyo.

---- Despite the above, Omega Rugal does have a secondary image for the winning screen. You can see this at 9:23.

---- In his cut-scene images/cinematics, his images in them matches the colour palettes of what the gameplay CPU Omega Rugal would be!

---- On his stage background, on the left side, a headless Goenitz can be seen sitting. On the right side of the stage, you can see his panther just under the painting. However this time, the panther is part of the stage/background and not of Omega Rugal.
