Kingdom Hearts 1 FM (PS4): Part 6: The Traveling Trio Is Formed! / Meeting Merlin
7Donald and Goofy continued their search for Leon, and for the "missing key".
They were approached by a gentle girl in pink named Aerith. Apparently, she knows that King Mickey had sent those two on a quest.
The previous fight Sora had against Leon knocked him out cold, but then he woke up in a hotel bed, approached by... Kairi?!
Nope, that wasn't Kairi, that was actually the ninja girl from before: Yuffie. You could say she was disguising herself as Kairi, but she doesn't even know who that is. Sora was probably just hallucinating her, instead.
Leon, formerly Squall Leonhart, brought Sora into the hotel after their fight. Together, they explained to Sora the importance of his Keyblade, and the threat of those shadowy creatures: The Heartless.
Coincidentally, Aerith was also explaining this to Donald & Goofy in a different room, as well as how many worlds have now become connected because the Heartless' onslaught.
Aerith even brought up a man named Ansem. He studied the Heartless on a mission on how they exist, and what can be done about them. The pages of his report were scattered and need to be found.

Once you regain control of Sora, get ready to head out with Leon to hunt down the leader of Traverse Town's Heartless.
The armored Heartless you'll start fighting from this point on are called Soldiers. Final Mix has recolored them and many other kinds of Heartless in this game.
The large house within that area is the home to dalmatians Pongo and Perdita. They've lost their 99 puppies and you'll have to search everywhere to get them back.

Head to the Third District!
Donald & Goofy will try and fail to fight off some Heartless from up high, and this backfire ends up having them land right on Sora. Looks like his Keyblade was the "missing key" the King ordered them to follow, after all.
So now, as a team, you have to fight off more Heartless, and then fight against their boss: Guard Armor.
The Guard Armor's different sections can be destroyed individually, but it's mainly destroyed when you've taken out its head/torso.

After that fight, and after Leon's words, Sora, Donald, & Goofy have decided to form a team. Donald & Goofy can help Sora find Riku & Kairi, while Sora can help Donald & Goofy find King Mickey
It's ALL FOR ONE, AND ONE FOR FOR ALL!
Unbeknownst to them, however, a ring of villainous characters were watching their every move going forward. Their leader, Maleficent, stood tall and eager to see what she can do with Sora and his Keyblade...

Before the Traveling Trio could go on their way, they are given multiple things:
- Leon, Yuffie, and Aerith give the party some Munny to do some shopping with.
- Sora learns Fire magic from Donald, which means you can now use your MP for elemental attacks.
- The trio also gets to learn Abilities, which cost AP to equip. Sora's first one is the Dodge Roll.
- The trio learns Trinties, starting with the Blue Trinity, or Trinity Jump.
- Jiminy will now record many different things about this game in his Journal, including info on characters, the Heartless, and the game's story, in general.

To explain Sora's new allies:
Donald is the "Mage" of the team. He'll be using his magic the most. As a tradeoff, his Defense is pitiful, and you might need to help him stay alive.
Goofy is the "Tank" of the team. He fights with a shield and that can help him block some attacks. He also has more health than Donald, and better Defense. He'll also be fantastic at stocking Items and Accessories as he levels up.
You CAN pause the game and go to "Customize" and change their AI behavior. I very much recommend checking this out.

The last thing I do in this video is check out that fire door in the Third District with my new Fire magic, which open it. After a long weird path across water, the Traveling Trio enter an empty room.
Sora... suddenly sees Kairi again, as the room reminded her of that secret cave back at Destiny Islands.
But alas... she was just another hallucination from Sora. Why did these keep happening to him, now...?
Then, a friendly old sorcerer named Merlin stepped in. He was also summoned by King Mickey to help Sora out. He used his magic to make the empty room more lively and turned it into his Study.
Merlin will be here to help Sora practice his magic, and he's also brought along the Fairy Godmother with him. She'll help him with something else, later.
