You just need to learn when to block his bite attacks and this becomes a pretty easy boss, when he's in the air then go onto the hill in the middle and jump up to him (You should have Aerial Spiral equipped), if you can't make it to the hill because he's already shooting then just stay on his shadow until he stops (I'm not sure if he stops when he 1st eats whoever it is but he stops when he's ate everyone and changes attack style constantly).

His melee spiral attack can be used randomly without warning so you'll probably be hit a few times by that.
