This is video #136 in my playthrough of Kingdom Hearts II Final Mix, part of the Kingdom Hearts HD II.5 ReMIX. This is Critical Mode. This video does not contain commentary. To view the commentary version, click here: https://youtu.be/X8Nv5M1I3yU

Previously, after completing the game, Sora finished leveling all his Forms and Summons up to the maximum level. Now, he will head to the depths of Radiant Garden to do battle with Sephiroth, the optional super-boss from the original Kingdom Hearts II.

So, the party lands in the Crystal Fissure on Radiant Garden (time 0:19). Upon landing, Sora prepares himself. He should have plenty of Elixirs. His growth abilities should be maxed out, particularly High Jump, Aerial Dodge, and Glide. Most abilities are useful, but Retaliating Slash, Aerial Recovery, and Counterguard are essential. Finishing Plus is quite helpful. MP Rage and MP Haste(ra)s are all useful. Second Chance, Once More, and Leaf Bracer are indispensable. Combo Pluses and Air Combo Pluses, though, should come off. If you have Negative Combo, use that instead. Sora will need good equipment like multiple Ribbons, plus any accessories that boost his Strength. Ultima Weapon is my personal favorite for this battle. Be sure to shortcut Reflega, Curaga, and Elixirs.

When Sora is prepared, the party heads north through the Great Maw (time 2:27). In postgame, the Mushroom XIII members will show up here. Those that have been satisfied so far will stay behind and dance happily. So far, that is No. 2 and No. 5 for me. Something interesting may happen if we manage to satisfy all of them...

Anyway, Sora glides on to the Dark Depths (time 2:45).

At the far end is Sephiroth (time 2:59). A cutscene ensues when Sora uses the "Approach" reaction command. Sephiroth seems quite interested in Sora's Keyblade. The amazing "One-Winged Angel" track from Final Fantasy VII plays, and the battle begins!

After the scene, it is time for Sora to duel Sephiroth (time 3:57). Sora should immediately use the reaction command to block Sephiroth's initial charge. If you block this successfully, Sephiroth will be open to a combo. In the first phase of the battle, Sephiroth will hack and slash at Sora. This can be counterguarded pretty easily. If Sora is out of reach, Sephiroth will teleport behind him and slice him up into the air. A well-timed Retaliating Slash is a good way to interrupt Sephiroth's attack and get in one of your own. I personally like this tactic. Sephiroth will also employ his charge that must be guarded with the Block reaction command, so be on the lookout.

The second stage of the battle begins when Sephiroth's first four health bars are gone. Sephiroth will add explosive balls to his repertoire. These can really hurt and leave Sora open to a devastating attack, but they can be blocked with Reflega. He can also conjure a pillar of flame around himself, and Sora will be drawn in. Use Glide and Quick Run to stay away. Worse yet, Sephiroth will use his Heartless Angel attack. He will rise high into the air and chant, "Descend, Heartless Angel." When he finishes this chant, a dark halo will appear over Sora's head, and he will lose all MP and all but 1 HP. High Jump and Aerial Dodge to attack Sephiroth before he finishes to interrupt him. If you can't, be ready to heal with an item. It seems a little easier to interrupt than it was in the first Kingdom Hearts. Sephiroth will continue his previous tactics, as well.

The third and final stage begins when Sephiroth is down to four bars of health. He will now move faster around the battlefield and try to slash at Sora from all angles. Be sure to evade this. When Sephiroth appears over the northern end of the arena and says, "The time has come," look out for his devastating Meteor spell. Evade it with Glide or Reflega. Be on the lookout for all his previous attacks, especially Heartless Angel. He will also do his opening charge twice in a row, so be ready to block it. Sonic Rave in Limit Form is one way to bring a quick end to this battle, especially when Sephiroth is hacking and slashing.

At the end of this battle, Sora reaches Bonus Level 59 (time 9:57). His Drive Gauge increases to 8.

Another scene plays after Sora defeats Sephiroth (time 10:11). Sephiroth dismissively tells Sora to fetch Cloud. Be that way.

After the scene, the player earns the trophy appropriately named "One-Winged Angel" for defeating Sephiroth (time 10:37).

The party regains control in the Dark Depths after the scene (time 10:41).

So, to fulfill Sephiroth's bossy demand, the party heads out through the Great Maw (time 11:19) to the Crystal Fissure (time 11:34). After beaming up to the Gummi Ship (time 11:44), the land in Merlin's House (time 11:53).

Description continued in the comments.
