Sora and the rest hurry out of the corridors, smashing the Nobodies quickly out of the way. When they reach the Postern, a man suddenly appears before them, and Donald realizes that it's Sephiroth. Goofy asks if he's the one that's the dark side of Cloud's heart, and Sephiroth wonders if Cloud is the one who told them that. Sora asks what Sephiroth is planning to do, and he says nothing, because Cloud is the one who wants the darkness. Sora tells Sephiroth that Cloud wants to settle the score, so Sephiroth realizes Cloud want to see him again, and says that he should give him what he wants, saying the last bit of light is the most difficult to get out. He then vanishes in front of Sora and the rest.

Sora and the group continue out and see Leon and Aerith fighting Heartless and go to help, but turn to see lots of Nobodies behind them, so they take them out first. They head out to the Bailey and see the desturction first hand, and Sora sees a flood of Heartless coming. Everyone is fighting all these Heartless down below...Yuffie, Aerith, Cloud, Leon, even Stitch and the fairies from earlier. When Cloud gets surrounded, all the Heartless suddenly disappear and he meets with Sephiroth. Cloud says that once he defeats Sephiroth, the darkness will go away. Sephiroth doesn't think he can do it, as he lives on his memoires of the past, and defeating him would erase those memories. Sephiroth says he cannot live in the light of the present. Tifa runs in and Cloud feels something strange, then Sephiroth leaves, saying he knows what the feeling is...since he is him. Cloud runs after him, with Tifa chasing him as she fights off Heartless.

Sora hurries of to help Leon and everyone, but the King stops them and tells them to go find Riku and Kairi, saying there's enough help here already. The King tells Donald and Goofy to take Sora and get going, and they comply...kind of, because Donald and Goofy take Sora down below to help Leon and the others, apologizing to the King.

They continue to he castle gate, and a member of the Organization appears before them. It's Demyx, Number IX of the Organiztion, who they met messing around in the Underworld. Sora wonders how someone like him got into the Organization since he is a wimp, and says he can't fight. Demyx warns not to judge anyone by appearance, but freaks out when Sora, Donald and Goofy pull out their weapons. Sora wonders who exactly he is, and remembers that he's in the Organization and has no heart. Demyx says the do so have hearts, but Donald and the others aren't tricked by it. Then suddenly Demyx turns serious, and tells them "Silence, traitor." Sora doesn't know what he means, and Demyx summons his water sitar to battle.
