Korona: The Movie: DDDD - 26 - Remapping the Map
Combat is going pretty well now, and we even found the way back upstairs (which is actually a more convenient place to save for the moment). Unfortunately, towards the end of the last session, the party had a run-in with the worst kind of trap: map erasure. We'll have to explore everything on that level all over again to fill it back out.
The silver lining is that because of the way the dual layers of floor 7 are handled internally (essentially as two floors that share the same encounters and map item), map progress was only reset for one of the two layers.
In any case, we still need to find a way to open the door to the boss regardless before even thinking about continuing on, and the extra experience from clearing out the area again couldn't hurt.
- Game Summary -
DanDan Dungeon Daibouken (だんだんダンジョン大冒険, roughly, "The Great On and On Dungeon Adventure") is a bonus first-person dungeon exploration jRPG set in the labyrinth beneath Belzebuth Castle, and sufficiently long and involved that it could stand separately as its own game, if one with virtually no plotline.
At the end of each floor, Korona must face one of her friends as a boss, who then joins the party when beaten. With the help of her allies, she must conquer eight floors full of monsters, tricks, and traps to finally reach Noel. There's an ending upon beating her, but then Noel joins and the way to an even more challenging ninth floor opens up. Assuming you can find it...
Also, the game includes quite a few external references, including a surprising number of monsters loosely based on (usually B-list) horror films, like The Deadly Spawn, TerrorVision, The Day The World Ended, and Frogs. On the other hand, the main story does mention Korona's mother enjoying such movies, and Noel joining her after moving in with them, so it makes a certain amount of sense.
