Back in late October and to the 22nd of November 2024 I had to check my VRAM temps on my 1080Ti before using it. But as Linux did not have the monitoring software required back then I could not have done so. Thus I resorted to changing the thermal pads, just in case. Now that is no longer needed, you can just use LACT to see if these temperatures are under control. LACT can also be used to overclock the GPU, monitor GPU core and hotspot temperatures as well as for controlling fan speeds (via curves, statics or vBIOS defaults).
