Last Epoch Crafting Guide - The Crafting Interface
30Hey everyone this is Thyworm and today, I want to talk about crafting in Last Epoch. In this small series, expect bite-sized videos with specific crafting topics. This video is about the crafting interface.
I feel this interface requires a bit of explanation actually. There are a lot of parts, and now that we covered how items work and why crafting is important, this is the logical next step in the series.
By pressing F, by default, you open up the crafting interface.
And there you have it. Recently got overhauled. Looks pretty neat.
Now this thing has quite some features.
At the top left, there is an inconspicuous button, with info on it, which theoretically explains the crafting system. But ye, it’s very likely you either missed that button entirely, or you didn’t quite get what was going on here. So, just keep watching this series. You’re going to be fine.
Right below it, an empty space. The item you want to craft on, goes here.
Dragging in this staff, it immediately shows us a few things. First, the prefixes and suffixes on the item, which tiers those are, and how many available slots we have left for additional prefixes and suffixes. Super useful information.
The affixes we’re using on this item show up on top of the list of available shards, unless they are already maxed out to tier level 5. This makes selecting these a lot easier. You can scroll through the list of shards to find an affix you would like to put on an item and then you can select it. The selected item then goes into the Modifier item slot. Let’s say we want to put armour on these boots. It’s now selected, but not only that, it also shows the odds we’re getting of a successful craft. We have a 90% chance for success, and a 10% chance of failure. More about that in a later video.
Next to the modifier item, there is a socket for support items. You can use glyphs to alter the chances of success, or alter the amount of stability that is added, just so you can make better crafts.
If you want to save some time and don’t scroll through the entire list, which at some point in time gets very large, there is a search bar as well. Just type in the name of the shard, or the modifier, and all appropriate shards will pop up. Typing in health reveals a number of shards you can craft to increase health, or minion health, or health regeneration.
Alternatively, you can filter by clicking on the column names in the list itself. Click on TYPE and it sorts by suffixes and prefixes. That’s handy if you just have a suffix slot left and want to see what is available, for example.
Finally, by pressing the purple button at the bottom, you roll the dice and either end up with a successful craft, or with a broken item.
