In this video, Mahalo expert Justin Z. briefly explains how to simulate a blur effect in Photoshop.
Blur Tool
---------------------------------------------------------------------
The Blur tool is useful for creating subtle effects that can help merge layers or create a simulated blur for photographs.
1. To access the Blur tool, simply click on the icon that looks like a "teardrop" in the tool bar.2. Once selected, click and drag across a portion of your canvas. Since the effect is very subtle, you will only notice the tool at work if you Zoom in.3. Basically, it takes your pixels and softens them, creating a blur effect. 4. The top Options panel give you a few choices:
* Brush Size and Hardness
* Blur Modes (which will add subtle differences)
* Blur Strength
* Sample All Layers (which allows you to use your blur tool on all layers at once)
Feel free to play around and experiment with it to familiarize yourself with the tool.
