Let's compare: Pit Fighter (C64/CPC/Spectrum/ST/Amiga/Master System/MegaDrive/SNES)
Why do the worst games have the most ports? A question that probably will never be answered.
The clear winner is the CPC version with a framerate of about a half per year and graphics that make you want to throw up your breakfast, your dinner and your lunch for the entire last week.
Did I mention that you have to load half an eternity from tape to begin with and after every opponent you have to load again.
That's better in the Spectrum version. It loads twice as long in the beginning, but doesn't load after that... at least the 128k version does... as far as I played.
The C64 and the Amiga version are a little less unplayable and the console versions slightly improve on that favoring the SEGA systems.
But seriously... don't play this game!
You can watch all the versions I could not show, including the original Arcade version at Gaming History Source. Here's a link to the video: http://youtu.be/vMFvHTtrGvw
