Ok, this stage isn't too bad, the High Max fight is reasonably challenging, but will drag on way way too long if you know what you're doing. Also once you go to the nightmare teleporter, you're stuck in the area you fight High Max until you either beat him or run out of lives, you can't just choose to leave.
