Having a bounty on your head adds an additional layer of peril to your travels around the world of Armello. The kings guards will hunt you down and you'll still lose prestige for killing them in self defence. In addition to that any hero that kills you while you have a bounty gets an extra prestige and 3 gold in addition to the prestige point which can definately swing a match in the bounty hunter's favour.

The best way to avoid the king's guards is to stay on the outskirts of the map or better yet to remain stealthed for as much as possible. There is a card that'll clear a bounty at the cost of 1 prestige but don't count on drawing it as a strategy to get rid of it.
