Let's Play Atari Vault: Episode 2: Super Breakout
2Today on Level 0 NPCs, Matt & Luke continue to dive into the Atari Vault to play another classic paddle & ball game: Super Breakout - The follow-up to the original Breakout, where the player bounces a ball back and forth against a wall of destructible "bricks", attempting to completely deplete the bricks in order to complete the level and move onward. It's a challenging skill game and was a huge hit in its day. The NPCs are playing the arcade cabinet emulated version of Super Breakout on ATARI Vault.
While blasting blocks, Matt & Luke chat about video game history, the roots of video games, Nolan Bushnell and his serial entrepeneurship, the story of ATARI, and other varied little snippets of trivia. So grab a drink and settle in with the NPCs as they look at where commercial video games got their start - back in the late '70s and with good ol' ATARI.
Super Breakout is presented as part of the ATARI Vault, a compilation of classic ATARI 2600 and Arcade cabinet games from the '70s and early '80s. It contains a non-comprehensive but strong selection of over 100 ATARI original classics, like PONG, Tempest, Asteroids, Centipede, Yar's Revenge and many, many more. It's a step back into the Golden Age of gaming, including online multiplayer and advanced mouse & controller support.
