Let's Play ChessRogue (P5)
4Right, so this game is plenty fun! It's just that it's not a very good game for LPing longer than I've done it, I'd say. We've essentially hit that "wall of repetition" that happens wherein the player has to deal with some early-game shenanigans before moving onto more interesting situations. We've seen it in practically everything up until now, so it's not news or anything.
The 1HP system exemplifies that state of early-game boredom and late-game interest, however, so it's no surprise that I'm already as drained as I am by the fifth part. I probably got through the first level at least 50 times in total, only to die very immediately after. I'm totally okay in admitting that many of my mistakes were avoidable, but man, I can't be spending half an hour on just a couple of floors each part when they involve the exact same combat choices and techniques.
Anyway, I really suggest taking a look at this game. This LP probably didn't do it enough justice.
