As we get further down the danger should be getting greater, but I've found the latter half of the game a lot easier then the earlier part (with the exception of the scaladars, of course). That I think is due to the general versatility and strength of the cleric class in this game coupled with finding multiple wands of smiting and the ring of shocking grasp. These things together have transformed Seledran into a monster crushing machine that obliterates almost everything in his path. Few enemies can survive two hits from us in close quarters and we have enough healing to go from near zero to maximum health multiple times in one rest. We can rest as often as we like thanks to create food and water, eliminating nearly all the peril in our adventuring as the monsters haven't gotten stronger at the same rate we have for the most part.
Compare that to the beginning of the game before we got access to unlimited food, where we were being very careful and treating each fight like it could be our last, all while resting only when we had to. We're a long, long way from that point - level 17 to be exact - and it shows in how fast we're going through these levels. There's still a chance for the game to get more challenging though, more-so if we let overconfidence take hold, so for now we're going to be somewhat cautious even if all signs are pointing to us not having to.
