There aren't that many necromancers down in the lower catacombs which brings to mind a couple of questions. How many necromancers have there been? If there's only as many as the ones that teach the Avatar spells then the tradition can't have been around for that long unless they all lived to a ripe old age. Perhaps there are other lesser necromancers who have since fallen out of favour with Lithos, cast aside by the mountain king and left forgotten in the earth. Secondly, did Vividos expect the Avatar to fall down to the lower levels by entering into that specific room in the upper catacombs or is there a more conventional entrance that we simply didn't find?

Finally, are the necromancers we've been encountering completely dead until we use death speak on them or is that only used to communicate with them? If it's the former it makes the spell more akin to a brief reanimation though there are hints that imply it's more the latter, that the necromancers are in some way still active and 'alive' even though their bodies are decayed and their hearts no longer beat.

All of these questions are never going to be answered by the game, so the best I can do is ponder them here as we seek out the final few necromancers to learn the last spells we'll learn from this school of magic. Hopefully we'll be given instructions on what to do afterwards and how to reach the Mountain King.
