We sacrifice our lower ranked units to open space for our Rank 2 Thugs.

Never used Thugs before. Much like comparing the Barbarian and the Swordsmen, Thugs tend to be the same comparison against the Guardsman. They have better attack, much more health, and a Speed of two while the Guardsman is slower but has much higher defense and the ability to First Strike.

Thugs also are much cheaper to buy and maintain, requiring only Iron. Guardsman require Mithril.

Thugs special ability allows them to cause a little Stamina damage with attack. This allows them to do better in battles of fatigue as they will drain their stamina with each attack while the enemy also spends stamina to counter (cept against undead and constructs).
