Let's Play Eador Masters of the Broken World (Part 19)
Step 1: Switch difficulty to Expert
Step 2: Serrock
Step 3: Pick Wizard
Step 4: Pro... OMG where is all my money and gems?!
So we are dealing with numerous changes all at once. Expert difficulty will lower my income and makes the random encounters stronger. This was made worse due to being a World of Death with very low income provinces around my start part.
Wizards tend to have it roughest when it comes to starting out. They grow faster in Magic than any other class and start off with random Rank 0 and 1 in all their spell slots (they also have a Wand). They can wear only cloth armor and they can use Wands. Wands are short ranged attacks that count as Magic but sadly do not keep up in damage compared to Bows.
Even if you start with a good skill (something other than Wand Mastery) and good spells, you are still using up gems nearly every fight in alot of cases. This is usually unnoticable if you use a Wizard as a secondary as you will have accumulated a surplus of gems by then.
Deadlands are a new terrain that increases all Morale losses by one. This adds up very quickly against enemies such as bandits, goblins, and thieves.
