Still dealing with a broken mouse and now the game itself decides to randomly kill my hero in a weird bug. The Hero menu will show the Hero dead but he will still be on the map and can still be controlled. Reloading and redoing the fight seems to fix this usually. Never had this bug before though I have had the spontaneous death happen while attempting to hold a siege beyond making the initial hole in the wall.

My strategy is pretty much the same as before. Swordsmen are the most expensive Rank 1 melee unit (Crossbowmen are the most expensive Rank 1 unit). But, their high ranged defense, decent melee defense, and parry skill makes them very reliable in taking hits and surviving long enough to actually get level ups. Parry does not seem to work while attacking though so they are better used for counterattacking much like Pikemen.
